Safari Overview
This 3-day safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Nestled in the southwestern part of Uganda, Bwindi offers an extraordinary opportunity to encounter these gentle giants in their natural habitat. The highlight of this safari is the gorilla trekking adventure, where you spend an hour observing gorillas as they feed, groom, and play. The tour also gives you a glimpse into local community life, offering cultural experiences with the Batwa or Bakiga people.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport by your safari guide. The journey to Bwindi takes you through the beautiful countryside, dotted with tea plantations, banana groves, and lively roadside markets. Lunch will be served en route in Mbarara before continuing to Bwindi, arriving in the late afternoon. Check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding forest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience & Community Visit
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. With the guidance of trained rangers, you will begin your trek through the dense forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour in their presence, observing their unique behaviors.
In the afternoon, you may opt for a community walk to visit the Batwa pygmies or local homesteads for cultural performances and storytelling, gaining insights into their way of life. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe with lunch en route. Depending on your flight schedule, your guide will drop you at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of your 3-day gorilla trekking safari.
