Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, you may go for a short city tour or relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Kampala.


Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park, home to 13 species of primates. The drive takes you through tea plantations and beautiful countryside. Lunch will be served en route, and you will arrive in the evening. Dinner and overnight at a lodge near the park.


Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

Today, you will set out for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. With the help of rangers, you will track chimpanzees and enjoy an hour watching them interact. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for its birds, monkeys, and community-based tourism projects. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.


Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, drive southwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its diverse wildlife and tree-climbing lions. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an evening game drive where you may spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, and antelopes. Dinner and overnight at a lodge within the park.


Day 5: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise

Rise early for a game drive in Kasenyi Plains, an excellent spot to see predators like lions and leopards, as well as elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous birds can be spotted along the shoreline. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.


Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, drive through scenic landscapes towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Pass through Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions, before reaching Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at a lodge near the gorilla trekking sector.


Day 7: Gorilla Trekking & Community Visit

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek can last 2–6 hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location. Once found, spend an hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit a local community for cultural performances and storytelling. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.


Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Return to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, head to Lake Bunyonyi, a scenic lake dotted with 29 islands. You may take a short boat ride or simply relax by the lakeside. Later, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe with lunch en route. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be dropped at the airport or hotel, marking the end of your 8 Days Best of Uganda Safari.
