Safari Overview

This 3-day safari offers a thrilling opportunity to spot the Big Five animals of Africa in Uganda. You will start with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where rhinos are found in the wild, before proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most popular conservation area. The park is home to lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and an incredible variety of bird species. Highlights include game drives, a boat cruise on the Nile, and a hike to the top of the world’s most powerful waterfall.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Continue to Murchison Falls

Your safari guide will pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe and begin the journey northwards. The first stop will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will enjoy a guided nature walk to track white rhinos on foot. This is a unique and exciting experience that completes your Big Five adventure.
After lunch at Ziwa or Masindi, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, drive to the top of the falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters down, creating a breathtaking sight. Continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.


Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in the northern savanna plains of Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeests, and numerous antelope species. Bird lovers will also enjoy sightings of savanna and woodland birds.
Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile River towards the base of the falls. Along the way, you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and many bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. Optional: hike to the top of the falls after the boat ride. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.


Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Return to Kampala/Entebbe

Start the day with another early morning game drive, giving you more chances to spot predators and other wildlife. After breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe with lunch en route. Your guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport, marking the end of your 3-day Big Five safari in Uganda.
