Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your safari guide will meet you and transfer you to a hotel in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the city or rest after your flight. Dinner and overnight stay in Kampala.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park, famous for its chimpanzees and diverse primate population. Stop en route for lunch and enjoy the picturesque landscapes of Uganda’s tea plantations and hills. Check into your lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
Begin the day with an early morning chimpanzee tracking adventure. Guided by experienced rangers, you will trek through the dense forest in search of chimpanzees and spend an hour observing their social behavior. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-based conservation area, for bird watching, primate sightings, and a cultural walk. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through stunning landscapes, including terraced farms, forests, and local villages. Arrive in time for lunch and rest at your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay near the park.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kampala/Entebbe
After an early breakfast, proceed for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest. The trek can take 2–6 hours depending on the gorilla family’s location. Once located, spend an unforgettable hour observing the gorillas up close. After trekking, begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping for lunch en route. Arrival at your hotel or airport marks the end of your 5 Days Uganda Primate Safari.
