The 15 Days Uganda Safari Encounters is a comprehensive adventure for travelers who want to experience the full spectrum of Uganda’s wildlife, primates, and culture. This extended safari includes gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Mgahinga, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and Budongo Forests, wildlife safaris in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park, rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, and cultural experiences with local communities. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your safari guide will meet you and transfer you to a hotel in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a city tour or rest. Dinner and overnight in Kampala.
Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Transfer to Murchison Falls
Drive north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for guided rhino tracking. After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Visit the top of the falls for a breathtaking view of the Nile squeezing through the gorge before it plunges 43 meters. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls. Spot elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, and various antelope species. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Nile to the base of the falls, observing hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Drive south to Kibale Forest National Park, known for its high concentration of primates, including chimpanzees. En route, enjoy Uganda’s scenic landscapes and local communities. Dinner and overnight at a lodge near Kibale.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
After an early breakfast, embark on chimpanzee tracking with park rangers, spending an hour observing these fascinating primates. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for bird watching, monkey sightings, and cultural experiences with local communities. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop at the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Begin with a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and antelopes. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel to observe hippos, crocodiles, and birds along the waterway. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to endangered mountain gorillas. Stop along the way at scenic viewpoints and local villages. Dinner and overnight near the park.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting gorilla trekking. Spend an hour observing a gorilla family in their natural habitat, capturing memorable photos and learning about their behaviors. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park & Batwa Cultural Visit
Drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Enjoy a short hike or nature walk to spot golden monkeys and other wildlife. Visit a Batwa community to learn about their culture, history, and traditions. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Drive to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “Switzerland of Africa.” Spend the afternoon relaxing, taking a boat ride, or exploring the islands. Dinner and overnight at a lakeside lodge.
Day 12: Transfer to Mbarara / Fort Portal
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through Uganda’s lush landscapes. Stop at viewpoints and local communities along the way. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in Fort Portal or Mbarara.
Day 13: Transfer to Budongo Forest – Chimpanzee Tracking
Drive to Budongo Forest for an optional chimpanzee tracking experience. Explore the forest and learn about its biodiversity, including primates, birds, and plant species. Dinner and overnight near the forest.
Day 14: Return to Kampala / Entebbe
After breakfast, begin the scenic journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Stop for lunch and souvenir shopping along the way. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
Day 15: Departure
Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home, marking the end of the 15 Days Uganda Safari Encounters.
